02.03 Getting around the resort

Once your car, taxi or EGSW transfer gets you to Les Arcs, what's the best way to get around? Well, one of the major pluses about our host villages is that everything is within either a short walk or an easy ski lift or funicular ride. Both Arc 1950 & 2000 are small villages with everything within each village only a max 5-10 minute walk.

EGSW will also be providing a complimentary late night shuttle service running between the two villages ensuring you get home safely after nights out.

You can walk from Arc 1950 to Arc 2000, as it isn't far, but it is much easier to take the 'Cabriolet' gondola lift. You are advised not to walk between any of the villages via the main roads as passing traffic makes them dangerous. It is also recommended to purchase a pair of over-shoe "grippers" for walking around the resort.

All the resorts have local taxi ranks and it's always preferable to book a taxi ahead of time. A taxi ride between any of the villages will take 15 minutes each way. Travelling to Bourg St Maurice takes at least 30 mins. Please note: if skiing on the far side of Paradiski, in the La Plagne region, ensure you don't miss the last lifts back as it takes at least an hour in a taxi back to our Villages.

If you have driven to our host villages, this does give you another option when travelling between them although using ski lifts and the free funicular are probably better options, especially when considering you'll have to dig your car out of all the freshly fallen snow each time!

The only car park in 1950 is pay-only and the covered car parks in 2000 are free for the first 2 hours. Arc 1950 is a totally car-free village and there's a paying underground car park which offer direct access to your residences above. On Saturdays the car park staff meet you to help coordinate your arrival. If you are driving, it's advisable to reserve your space in advance by visiting www.resaplace.com or by calling +33 (0) 825 888 826. The cost for parking your car for the week is approximately 100€.

Arc 2000 has two covered car parks and three open-air car parks. Upon arrival select a car park which is convenient for your accommodation. You can reserve your space at the car park by calling the office in advance on +33 (0) 4 79 07 64 16.
