Driving with the tunnel and the ferries it is remarkably easy to get across the channel. Fares on the ferries start at around £35.00 each way for a car or minibus with up to 9 passengers.Once in France it takes around 9 hours to drive to Alpe d'Huez from Calais if you are using the autoroutes. The tolls are approximately 60€ each way.. If you want to avoid the toll roads, the journey time from Calais increases to around 13 hours, if you get an early crossing arriving in Calais by 7am and you should still be able to arrive in Alpe d'Huez by around 9pm.
